Africare is an African-American led non-profit international development organization. The charity works to improve the quality of life of the people in Africa having thousands of projects in 36 countries Africa-wide with technical specialties of health and agriculture. Cross cutting themes include economic development, nutrition, water, sanitation & hygiene, women’s and youth empowerment. There is also focus on infectious diseases. Africare applies community engagement, capacity building, locally-driven behavior change and innovative public-private partnership approaches.
