The Department offers Bachelors and Masters programs in Public health, jointly with Addis Continental Institute of Public Health. It is also engaged in research activities with focus on health service responsiveness, HIV/AIDS, family planning, reproductive health, nutrition, neglected tropical diseases and environmental health thematic areas. The community services include web-based IEC program on reproductive health mainly on HIV/AIDS, as well as training and capacity building for health professionals.
The University publishes OMO International Journal of Science, EJBSS Journal and EJWST Journal.
