IFAD’s strategy focuses on supporting investment programs with the greatest potential impact on sustainable household food security and on the incomes of poor people. The intervention programs of IFAD include: community-based integrated natural resources management; rural financial intermediation; pastoral community development; and participatory small-scale irrigation development. Supported projects particularly target women, small-scale farmers and herders.
