The African Federation for Emergency Medicine (AFEM) is a broad coalition of national societies, organizations, and individuals from over 40 countries dedicated to securing high-quality emergency care for all people across Africa. The Federation envisions an Africa where high-quality emergency care is realized for all. The model to achieve this has six components: leadership development; advocacy; collaboration; research; education & training; and policy and frameworks. AFEM’s resources are Africa-specific and focus on clinical, nursing, and pre-hospital emergency care. The materials are open source and provide guidance for leadership development, education and training, advocacy, and policy.
