Amani Global Works saves lives in the Great Lakes Region of Africa, using Idjwi Island as a model. Founded in 2010 by Dr. Jacques Sebisaho and his wife, Mimy Mudekereza, their work for Amani has been concentrated on the Island of Idjwi, located on Lake Kivu, between the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda. AGW operates a replicable model of primary health care utilizing community health workers, regional health centers and a referral hospital to provide care in a dignified setting to all people, in even the most remote regions.
