Globalization and Health Equity is part of the School of Epidemiology and Public Health at the University of Ottawa. The research group examines how globalization (post 1980) is affecting social determinants of health and the health status of different population groups, within and between nations. All the research seeks a better understanding of how globalization creates new health opportunities or risks and how those opportunities can be enhanced or risks minimized through engagement with policy makers and civil society organizations. Research project themes include: comprehensive primary health care; globalization and health; health worker migration; globalization and human rights; health and foreign policy; population health inequalities; and social determinants of health equity.

The research articles are available under publications. The research seek a better understanding of how contemporary globalization creates new health opportunities or risks, and how those opportunities can be enhanced or risks minimized through engagement with policy-makers and civil society organizations.
