HISP is a global network established by the Department of Informatics at the University of Oslo. The Programme aims to adopt a broad based, developmental approach to capacity building and supporting communities, healthcare workers and decision makers for improving health information systems. HISP designs, implements and sustains Health Information Systems. In partnership with Ministries of Health, Universities, NGOs and private companies, HISP supports integration of the information systems through open standards and data exchange mechanisms. It globally follows a participatory approach to support local management of healthcare delivery and information flows. HISP works in South Africa, South Sudan, Democratic Republic of Congo, Nigeria, Zambia and Liberia.
The research library has a collection of publications on the HISP project.
