Institute for Healthcare Improvement - IHI
IHI, an independent non-profit organization, is an innovator, convener, partner and driver of results in health and health care improvement worldwide. The Institute aims to improve health care and health of individuals and populations. To achieve this, IHI’s work is focused in five key areas: improvement of capability; person- and family-centered care: patient safety; emphasis on quality, cost, and value and applying integrated approaches. The Institute works with a wide range of entities, health care facilities, entire health care systems, or governments to help them achieve significant results in quality, safety, and innovation. IHI collaborates with these change agents to accelerate improvement in vital areas, including maternal and neonatal health, as well as end-of-life care, avoidable hospital readmissions, waste and cost reduction.
IHI has professional development programs, including conferences, seminars, and audio and web-based programs, to inform every level of the workforce, from executive leaders to front-line staff. The IHI Open School offer free online courses and an international network of chapters.
