Jhpiego develops strategies to help countries care for themselves by training competent health care workers, strengthening health systems and improving delivery of care. Focus areas of Jhpiego include: maternal, newborn and child health; family planning and RH; cervical cancer prevention and treatment; infection prevention and control; HIV/AIDS and infectious diseases; malaria prevention and treatment; gender; innovations; digital health; and urban health and communities. Jhpiego designs innovative, effective and low-cost health care solutions. The organization puts research into practice, develops creative solutions to improve health care services, and strengthens the capacity of countries, while building sustainable health systems.

The technical and program resources help strengthen health care services for women and their families in limited-resource settings. Some resources promote and support competency-based learning as well as strategies and technologies that can be tailored to the needs of a specific country or region. In addition, the resources provide information for the global health community on effective in-service training and pre-service education, as well as key global health topics.
