UNAIDS is leading the global effort to end AIDS as a public health threat by 2030 as part of the Sustainable Development Goals. UNAIDS works in East and Southern Africa and West and Central Africa. The Programme places people living with HIV and people affected by the virus at the center of decision-making, designing, delivering and monitoring the AIDS response. UNAIDS provides strategic direction, advocacy, coordination and technical support needed to catalyze and connect leadership from governments, the private sector and communities to deliver life-saving HIV services. Program areas focus on: IDS and SDGs; children; community mobilization; data; fast-track cities; gender ; HIV prevention; HIV treatment; human rights ; key populations; resources and financing; security and humanitarian affairs ; social protection ; TB/HIV and young people.
