PHFI is a public-private initiative that has collaboratively evolved through consultations with multiple constituencies including Indian and international academia, state and central governments, donor agencies and civil society groups. The Foundation aims to develop the public health workforce and set standards to redress the limited institutional capacity in India. PHFI strengthens training, research and policy development in the area of Public Health. It offers postgraduate diploma and numerous short-term courses/in service training on various public health areas of topical importance. Also, PHFI conducts a multidisciplinary research in the areas of epidemiology, determinants of health, health system and policy, non communicable diseases, adult infectious diseases, maternal and child health and nutrition. In addition, PHFI focuses on advancing technology and strengthening knowledge application and evidence-informed public health policy and practice.
