Society for Women and AIDS in Africa, Nigeria - SWAAN
SWAAN is the country branch of the regional body, the Society for Women and AIDS in Africa (SWAA). The Society is engaged in: AIDS education; provision of HIV counseling and testing services; home based care services for PLWHA and PABA; and education and information for anti-AIDS clubs in schools. SWAAN has reproductive health library services and provides technical assistance aimed at promoting HIV/AIDS/STI awareness. The Society’s main target groups are the general public, the youths, sex workers, women, men, people living with HIV/AIDS, health care providers, and people affected by HIV/AIDS. SWAAN has 29 established state branches and membership has grown to over 3,500.
