Vasavya mahila Mandali – VMM
VMM, a non-profit organization, is working in the rural and urban areas of Andhra Pradesh. The charity works with a vision to promote comprehensive social, economic and political development for women, children and youth in vulnerable situations, thereby empowering communities to improve their quality of life, and build a better civil society in India. The six initiatives for ‘women in life cycle’ focus on: environment, nutrition, health, human rights, education and economic empowerment. Projects under the health initiative include: HIV/AIDS; TB; survival of girl child; reproductive child health; pediatric care, geriatric care; SRH; cancer, malaria; filarial; blindness and eye care; diabetes as well as urban health and health workers training. The social laboratory of VMM and the data is used to conduct research. VMM documents community based initiatives to bring visibility to the issues of the communities with innovative and best practices that can be replicated elsewhere in the World. The documents can be used by present and future generations for academic and development purposes.
