Southern Africa AIDS Information Dissemination Service- SAfAIDS
SAfAIDS is a sub-regional, non-profit organization and works in South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Swaziland and Lesotho. The organization aims to promote effective and ethical development responses to SRH, HIV and TB integrated with livelihood strategies through advocacy, communication and social mobilization. Priority areas of focus are: HIV and TB prevention, care and treatment; integration of HIV and sexual and reproductive health services; addressing the links between HIV, culture and GBV; and addressing the rights of marginalized communities (LGBTI, people living with HIV and sex workers) to access health services. SAfAIDS uses multi-media campaigns, utilizing television, radio, newsprint, social media and traditional media (performing arts) to reach the masses, and mobilize communities. The organization works in partnership with NGOs, PWAs, government bodies, international agencies, research institutes, media organizations and the private sector.
SAfAIDS has documentation of working models and best practices for improved program designs, advocacy, service delivery, and policy transformation. The Info hub has publications, SAfAIDS impact, success stories, online catalog, e-learning and young people’s leadership academy.
