Ethiopia has made significant progress in improving health outcomes through the Health Extension Program. The Program has been launched in 2003 and scaled up in 2005. Watch these multimedia to learn about the contributions of over 40,000 health extension workers, who have been deployed to agrarian, pastoralist and urban areas across the country, to provide essential package of promotive, preventive, curative and curative health services to communities.
The videos bring the voices of health extension workers, volunteer community health promoters and rural communities, which highlights the importance of this primary health program in hope of achieving Universal Health Coverage.
